GKB.com now offering PRINTS

Date September 13, 2008

I’d like to direct your attention for a moment to the Navigation Bar of this site.

You’ll see a new link to a page titled “PRINTS.”

Putting two and two together, you’ve probably figured out, from the title of that page and this post, that I’ve started offering some my photos for sale. Equipment costs money. Gas to get to cool places to take photos costs money. SlimJims and Cokes on the way to cool photo places costs money.

I have photographs, and you have money. Let’s swap. I’ll convert my photographs into your money, and vice versa. I think that’s called “fungibility.” I dunno.

Anyway, if you see an image that I’ve shot recently that you’d just love to have, let me know.

One caveat: NOW is the time to get in on this. There’s a chance, and we won’t go into just how slight it may or may not be, that I will become a SERIOUS, WORLD-RENOWNED, SUPER-IMPORTANT photographer, and if you wait until then, well, the same prints would cost you 100x as much. And don’t think I wouldn’t do it. I would. Just because I could. Also, there’s a chance I could die tragically, or I could become a serial killer, which would positively impact the market value of anything you may or may not own. I’m just sayin’.

I tried to pay you for a print last year, and you just sent me the file instead. Now, I feel like I stole it…

That was LAST YEAR. If this is the ground floor, you were getting in at the basement level!

Who knows, maybe someday, after I become super-famous (either for photography, or for dying tragically, or for turning serial killer), some art expert will be having cocktails in your living room and will nearly choke on her hors d’ouvre and exclaim, “Oh my! Is that an *early* Kendall-Ball? So raw, so primitive, so unlike his later work. This is priceless, you know!”

Am I missing something? I thought you had a “catalog” of your prints?

No, you’re not missing anything- rather than create a smallish list of things people can buy prints of, I thought I’d open wide the barn doors to my entire selection, be it something in my current portfolio, in my Flickr stream, something I’ve posted on here, etc. Within reason, of course. If someone asks for a 20×30 of a photo of my wife, we’ll have to discuss it :)
