Wednesday Linkage

Date June 18, 2008

A few links to brighten your dreary Wednesday. However, if you are like me and are living in a parched wasteland featuring triple-digit temperatures, consider these links a cup of cool water to soothe your scorched souls (or soles, as it may be, especially if you walked out to the curb recently in bare feet thinking it wouldn’t be that hot…):

  • David DuChemin’s treatise on the Muse at Gavin Gough’s site.
  • Gavin Gough’s thoughts on Inspiration at David DuChemin’s site.
  • Side Note: I really hope the use of the Ralph Gibson quote was intentional. If it wasn’t, and it’s a pure coincidence that they just both happened to open their articles with it, that would be pretty creepy. Unless you don’t find bizarre coincidences creepy, and then it would be something else.

  • The Boston Globe’s “Big Picture” Blog. If you haven’t subscribed to this newish photoblog yet, you’re missing out on some fascinating news imagery, and literally, some big pictures. This blog has generated quite a buzz of late, and you should add it to your Google Reader or Bloglines feeds right away!
  • Be sure to check out this inspiring video. Sometimes a man just has to make some commitments and stick to them. Not necessarily related to photography, but I’ve included it here to get this new blog off to the right sort of start.

What have you been reading lately? Any great resources to share?

I’d like to say that it was pure coincidence that David and I both began our articles with the same quote but that would be stretching the truth somewhat. However, that was all we shared but we did come up with some very similar points.

Thanks for the plug GKB, much appreciated. And congratulations on the new Wordpress blog.

Thanks, Casey…I’ve been checking that blog every morning now for a week or so, and it blows me away every day. It certainly motivates me to improve, so that one day I’ll get to cover the major international stories. Thanks for dropping by.
