I came across this article and photograph during my morning cruise through my Google Reader feeds. Truly amazing to contemplate, especially in this day of (supposedly) pervasive coverage by satellites and so on.
I am reminded of Buster and his dreams of becoming a cartographer being dashed by his cynical family. See, [...]
Curtain Rod

I recently traded a few lenses to obtain an EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens. I am really enjoying it, although I am missing the near-indestructible build quality of the “L” series lens I sold to get it. The extra stop of light (from f/4 to f/2.8) coupled with the Image Stabilization system [...]

I have seen the power of the “gacaca” courts the article mentions. I am so glad to hear stories like this coming out. While the dominant narrative of Rwanda will likely always be the genocide, [...]

Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain
May 14, 2008
There were some blue eyes, and there was a lot of rain (and tornadoes), but mostly this was a sharpness test of the recently delivered Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM. Deliciously sharp, and incredibly blue (lens and eyes, respectively).
